Puppies

You know what makes me happy?

Puppies.

Last night I began looking at photos of puppies online and eeesh! I have kitties though so I see no puppies in my future though- the future Mr. does not appreciate pups like I do.

Anyway-

I adore Martha Stewart and one of the cute things she has is a blog "written" by her pups Francesca and Sharky (her French bulldogs). Here is a photo of her pups from one of her blog entries:

Cute huh?

Speaking of Martha Stewart when I went to Home Depot today to buy some packing tape I saw her paint section and just had to bring home their color pamphlet! I am excited to paint our new house (or so I think so now)!

So...tonight Craig and I went out for Thai food with some of my friends and it was so good! I had basil fried rice which is one of my favorites- though I must admit it was really spicy tonight! The waitress (poor girl) was the only one working the floor and she was running around like a madwoman. Needless to say I was dying for water (all of our glasses were eventually empty). I am now EXTREMELY full and I feel like a pigger-chicker!

Enough blabbering for now

I spent the last few days babysitting my nephew Jayden. He is so cute but such a handful! Besides babysitting I drove my sister's Dodge Hemi around for an afternoon- what a HUUGGGEE truck! I felt like I was climbing a tree when I was getting in it!

Craig signed the purchase & sale agreement last night so...yay! Hopefully it all pans out and we now have a home!

Last night I had an amazing dinner- Craig and I went out to Garden at the Cellar in Cambridge. I had a divine bowl of tomato soup and crispy grilled cheese. Craig and I also split a bowel of the amazing rosemary-truffle french fries! YUMMY! I love that place- the atmosphere is delightful!

Tonight-

Since Craig is at the Red Sox game with his father tonight I am at home on my own. I ordered Domino's Pizzas (enough for Craig later too with plenty left overs), cheesy bread and buffalo kickers! I managed to completely ruin my daily and most of my weekly point allowance for weight watchers. BUT- simply amazing! I mindlessly ended up chowing down on food while watching Pride & Prejudice.

Neat little article

This article highlights some popular fictional characters and what their full names are! I love Shaggy (from Scooby Doo) and Barbie's names!

Shaggy's name is: Norville Rogers

Barbie: Barbara Millicent Roberts

a bit rant-like (sorry folks)!

I hurt my arm the other day while I was at the gym (I became a bit over-zealous) I couldn't bend my arm past a 90 degree angle and it was incredibly sore! oh so so sore! I am happy today though because I can now bend it into an obtuse angle (dorky!) and it doesn't hurt AS much! I am going to talk to some physical therapists at work tomorrow if I get the chance about when it would be safe to begin exercising my arms again and what exercises I should start with while I am healing!

Now to rant about work-

The world of nursing is not like the movies- the nurse walks in gives meds, sticks a thermometer in their mouth, pats the patient's head and walks out. Not to mention the nurse ends up married to the hunky ER doctor.

In the real world nursing is often a dirty (and often stinky) job. This past week I have had to do some pretty dirty jobs (which I will not discuss for everyone's sanity). I am still skeeved out thinking about some of those things.

Though right now I love what I do- I definitely need to be paid more and god-when I am older how am I going to do all the physical things involved with being a nurse? All the bending, lifting, transferring, etc... of patients.

I already have frequent lower back pain (due to my former bad transfer habits which are now remedied) and to boot...I swear I can't find a pair of shoes which won't give me blisters besides my stinky old gym shoes that are like 5 years old (GROSS). I also wake up early in the morning (I am NOT a morning person but the 7-3pm shift is WAY better than 3-11pm because I actually want to see my fiancé).

I swear this is what I am going to look like in 20 years:

On a HAPPIER NOTE!

I am going to drive to CT on one of my days off this week and I am going to babysit my nephew Jayden! He is such a cute little man!

I am also excited because one of my best friends is moving to the Boston area! Not only to the Boston area but a bit over a mile away from my apartment! What makes me sad though is that when she moves into her new apartment I am going to be in the process of moving out of my apartment! Craig and I are going to be moving into his parents house for a few weeks while we wait for our house to close! *keeps fingers crossed everything goes alright*

Now off to watch my first episode of Mad Men!

Materialistic day!

Yesterday I met up with a great friend from high school (and her brother, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's little sister). They spent the morning looking at Wellesley College (his girlfriend's little sister wants to go there). We met up at my place and caught the T into town- we ended up at one of my fav tourist traps-Quincy Market. Had lunch and and walked around. It became very cold and cloudy so we headed home early. Thank goodness too! It began to rain in no time! Those pesky weathermen said it was supposed to rain after 8pm!

Later on Craig and I made a trip to Nordstrom and I bought a Longchamp 'Le Pliage' bag which I have been secretly coveting. I decided to spring for the purchase because my Anna Street bag (which I love to pieces) is fraying apart. =(

Here is my new bag:

While I was at the mall I made a stop at Vera Bradley. I noticed that they are having their summer sale and I found this cute wallet:

I love the small size, cute design and the organization! It is more logical to have than my old Coach Tattersall mini wristlet which I use for my wallet currently. I don't have the heart to get rid of it though because it was a Christmas present from Craig some years back. Too much emotional attachment- I will use it until it is unusable! I would feel so bad just donating it (I am huge into donating used clothes and other items-try freecycle.org)!

On another note I am currently coveting a few items (which I will most likely not buy but just admire from a distance):

The Barnes & Noble NOOK eReader

and the

Sperry Boat Shoes in Sky Gray/Madras

Cute huh?

The Future Mrs. Andrews Creates A Blog

I have decided to start a blog.

I am not quite sure what I will dedicate the topic of this blog to. I am thinking our new home and planning our wedding. I also am unsure about the name of the blog. Thus, the mysteries of life!

I just spent the last few hours with the fiance trying to teach me how to edit HTML on my own using CSS. I must say- I learned a bit but I still suck.

I did make a photograph I took on Martha's Vineyard my background image.

I also found a nice font on google font directory which I am now using as my header font. That one was a bitch to figure out!

Now I am just writing a test entry. I obviously need to put something here!
